MVV (Most Valuable Volunteer!)

Bobby Tsumura holds a tournament record!  The 2021 Sony Open in Hawaii will mark Bobby's 45th year volunteering for the tournament at Waialae Country Club.

“I started doing strictly water on the tees around 1981," said Bobby, "We’ve done quite a bit more since.  It’s fun because of all the people. It’s like a big carnival. We all have a common cause, working to put on a good tournament.”

Former “water boy” Bobby Tsumura is now volunteer chair of the Sony Open in Hawaii's operations support committee.  In 2003, the Sony Open named Bobby the tournament's Chester Kahapea Volunteer of the Year.  Bobby was selected by the PGA TOUR that same year for the national Volunteer of the Year honor.

Mahalo for your tireless dedication and generous volunteer support Bobby Tsumura!
