The Stage is Set for a Dramatic Sunday at the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii

Davis Riley holds a two-stroke lead into Sunday’s final round of the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii, eyeing his third career PGA TOUR title after posting a third-round 65 to reach 12-under-par 198 at Waialae Country Club.

The 29-year-old Alabama native, already a two-time PGA TOUR winner (2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge), has made the most of his third appearance in Honolulu.

“I’ve always felt comfortable on courses where putting and precision matter,” Riley said. “Waialae rewards patience, and I’ve stayed pretty disciplined so far. Tomorrow’s (Sunday) going to be a fun challenge.”

Three players are tied for second at 10-under-par, setting up an exciting chase Sunday. England’s Harry Hall, seeking his second PGA TOUR victory, continued his steady form with a third-round 67. A win Sunday would make him the first Englishman ever to capture the Sony Open in Hawaii. Chris Gotterup, a two-time winner during the past two seasons, matched Hall at 10-under thanks to a strong finish on Saturday. Also at 10-under is Kevin Roy, who fired a 65 to share second and match his career-low 54-hole score (200). The 35-year-old journeyman is chasing his first win on TOUR in his 62nd start and would become the 10th player in event history to make the Sony Open his breakthrough victory.

Five players sit just three shots back at 9-under-par, including defending champion Nick Taylor, whose even-par 70 ended his streak of 13 consecutive rounds in the 60s at Waialae. A repeat victory would make Taylor the first back-to-back Sony Open champion since Jimmy Walker (2015) and only the sixth player in tournament history to win the event multiple times.

Joining Taylor at 9-under are Ryan Gerard, the 2025 Barracuda Championship winner; rookie John Parry, trying to become the first player to win in his TOUR debut since Emiliano Grillo in 2015; and consistent performer Patrick Rodgers, who is seeking to end a 312-start winless drought—the longest active streak on TOUR.

With calm trade winds and another sun-soaked day expected for Sunday’s finale, Waialae Country Club is set for a dramatic finish to open the 2026 PGA TOUR season!
