2026 Sony Open in Hawaii's Volunteer Chair of the Year and Co-Volunteers of the Year

Todd Bogush, 2026 Chester Kahapea Volunteer Chair of the Year, began his journey with the Sony Open in Hawaii five years ago with the Gallery Management Team. Now two years into his chair position with the Course Ecology Committee, Todd leads a dedicated team of 34 volunteers that are responsible for the placement, maintenance, and management of over 400 trash and recycling containers located throughout the golf course. Operations Division Head Jim Femia says “Todd Bogush’s vision and leadership have transformed the Course Ecology Committee into a model of operational excellence and environmental stewardship.”

Bogush’s positive attitude and stamina throughout his demanding schedule has been an inspiration to those around him. “I love golf and I love the camaraderie and fellowship we have here”, says Bogush.

Brothers Larry and Bruce Castillo, 2026 Chester Kahapea Co-Volunteers of the Year, have contributed a combined total of over 50 years of service to the Sony Open in Hawaii. Nominated by Dorinda Won, Chair of the Pro Transportation Committee, she reported that she “frequently receives positive feedback from professionals and their family members regarding the brothers’ positive attitudes, excellent service, and ability to remain calm despite the many traffic challenges in Waikiki.” The Pro Transportation Committee is an invaluable resource for players and families, providing shuttle transportation for them during and after the tournament, primarily between Waikiki and Waialae Country Club.

Both military veterans, the Castillos exemplify servants’ hearts. “It’s something we’re brought up with from our parents – to serve. If we can’t donate money, donate your time – and that’s what we do,” shares Larry.

Mahalo to all the volunteers that helped to make the 2026 Sony Open in Hawaii a success!
