Finish the Year with a Show of Aloha for Hawaii Charities!

Change was the operative word for the Assistance League of Hawaii this past year with the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Making a profound difference in the lives of disadvantaged children in Hawaii is their fundamental mission and Assistance League volunteers continued to serve the local community by reinventing ways they could provide help from a distance.

This year the Assistance League of Hawaii provided over 17,000 uniform shirts for students across the islands.  Although their literacy program was suspended, volunteers helped to purchase and give books to students at Pu’uhale School at Christmas. In addition, Assistance League volunteers provided over 300 Malama Bears for children in traumatic situations and also helped 445 new parents in need of baby layettes.
